Home Care & Hospice Associations Form New Organization; Connecticut Association for Home Care & Hospice
Wallingford, CT (PRWEB) February 3, 2008 -- The Connecticut Association for Home Care and the Connecticut Council for Hospice & Palliative Care have officially merged to create a new single organization called the Connecticut Association for Home Care & Hospice (CAHCH).
The impetus for merger sprang from a two-year contractual relationship between the two separate organizations in which they worked closely and attained meaningful synergies.
"This new organizational structure creates a forum for advancing mutually beneficial ideas, not to mention the increased efficiencies in serving members," said Brian D. Ellsworth, President & CEO of CAHCH. "This merger also reinforces the continuum of care that exists in Connecticut."
Home care and hospice share many things in common, including:
? Prevention of avoidable hospitalization and institutional placement
? Maximized patient autonomy & choice
? Inclusion of loved ones in care for the patient
? Participation with third party programs, such as Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance & Veterans Administration
