Get Ready for the Third Annual Las Tiendas Breast Cancer Event Hosted by UCR Health Centers

Chandler, Ariz. (PRWEB) October 3, 2008 -- Every year, the merchants at Las Tiendas Village Shopping Center get together to host an annual Breast Cancer Event. This year, the event will take place on Saturday, October 18th between 10 AM and 2 PM and will mark the third year the center encourages the community to help support breast cancer research. Admission is free to the public and families are invited to enjoy various activities sponsored by the Las Tiendas Village Merchants and local healthcare community. UCR Health Centers is the impetus behind the event and helps coordinate community physicians, local businesses and residents to come out and have some fun for a great cause.

UCR Health Centers has partnered with Assured Imaging this year to have their Mobile Mammography Van on-site ready to take annual mammograms for ladies who are due for annual screening. Please call 1-888-233-6121 to schedule your mammogram on that day. Insurances will be accepted and flyers will be located in most physician offices in the community with more information on the importance of routine mammography exams. Ladies can also receive a free Breast Cancer Health Kit from the American Cancer Society. Look for the booths located in the mall where attendees will be able to visit with local area physicians, get free blood pressure checks, free podiatry assessment and free chair massages. Las Tiendas Dental Group is offering dental analysis and other tips for your dental health

Our local celebrities will be out enjoying the event with us including Mayor Boyd Dunn and Sleep America's president Debbie Gaby who will announce the prizes from the raffle prize draw at noon. Look for your chance to enter by visiting the community sponsored booths and dropping your ticket in the pink boxes.

Kids will enjoy the Bounce Tent and a chance to meet the Phoenix Suns Gorilla. Young aspiring cheerleaders can get autographs from the Arizona Cardinals Cheerleaders who will be on-site supporting the event. The Chandler Fire Truck and City of Chandler Police Department will be on-site, along with PMT Ambulance which will bring in their cotton candy van.

Free food and prizes are sponsored by the community restaurants including Dilly's Deli, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Carraba's, and Applebee's.

Music is provided by 101.5 FM and all proceeds will go to charities including the American Cancer Society and The National Breast Cancer Foundation. Donation's can be made at various local businesses where you will find small pink boxes and flyers announcing the event.
